The paired subclavian arteries are large arteries of the thorax which supply oxygenated blood to the thorax, head, neck, shoulders and arms. Each subclavian artery has 5 branches: the vertebral artery, the internal thoracic artery, the thyrocervical trunk, the costocervical trunk, and the dorsal scapular artery.
